The Old Brick Barn

Detached Garage and Single Storey Extension.

This property is a Grade II listed barn set in extensive grounds in Moss.  In 2017 we previously obtained planning permission for a garage and workshop.  The Barn was listed in 1987 and was thought be used as a dove cote.  Although the barn is large our clients really lacked a dining room space.  Our clients waned to add a single storey rear extension to create a dining room so they could entertain family and friends.  Due to the listed status we felt it would be necessary to provide a defined separation between the new and the old.  We created a glazed link between the existing kitchen to a new single storey extension.  The link provides a definite separation between the existing and proposed.  The dining room space will be constructed of materials which are of a similar nature to the existing barn.  The garage and workshop are currently under construction with the dining room extension to be started in the not too distant future.  We can’t wait to see the finished article.
